About Us
Real Training. Real Relationships. Real Results.
At the heart of Taaffeite K9 Training is Jess Kaddatz, a lifelong dog lover, accomplished trainer, and passionate advocate for creating better lives for dogs and their humans.
Jess’s journey began in childhood, when she was found teaching her first cattle dog to leap over broomsticks and run through tunnels made of dining chairs. That early spark grew into a lifelong commitment to understanding, training, and connecting with dogs on a deeper level.
Since becoming a qualified Veterinary Nurse in 2011 and joining the ANKC as a registered breeder and competitor in 2012, Jess has dedicated her career to learning from the very best. Her education spans multiple disciplines and styles, from world-renowned behaviour vets and veterinary specialists to elite trainers in obedience, agility, flyball, freestyle frisbee, detection, service dogs and even circus performance.
She blends this wide-ranging knowledge to provide thoughtful, personalised training tailored to the unique dog in front of her, no cookie-cutter methods here!
Jess has helped countless dogs with severe behavioural issues, including aggression, reactivity, anxiety, and trauma go on to live calmer, safer, and more fulfilling lives. Her approach combines compassion, practical skills, and an unwavering belief that every dog can improve with the right guidance and support.
Jess works with each client to find the right tools and strategies that align with their goals and lifestyle from a place of kindness and empathy. She’s proud to have helped hundreds of owners build trust, confidence, and joy with their dogs, no matter their starting point.
Whether you’re chasing competition dreams or just want a calmer companion at home, Jess will help you and your dog find your rhythm together.
Jess shares her home with her partner George, their Border Collies, cats, and ducks—where every animal is treated like family. When you work with us, your dog becomes part of that extended family too.
At Taaffeite K9 Training, we don’t train to a template, we teach you how to Train the Dog in Front of You. That means understanding your dog’s body language, emotional needs, and learning style, and building a bond rooted in clear communication and trust.
